Another busy week here at the 6SL offices.

Design & Technology
A long profile in Wired on Bjarke Engels, an architect, redesigning New York's skyline (well, and the National Mall too). This pairs well with this profile of Elizabeth Holmes, founder of Theranos, who is transforming how blood tests can be done and how much diagnosis can be done from small samples -- and lowering the cost while doing so.
Web Design is completely boring. We're wondering just how funky we can get ;)
A video on triboelectric generators being used to harvest mechanical energy. The future is now!
Food & Health
As promised we've been keeping our eye on pills to alleviate issues that may arise from accidental gluten ingestion. Right now they're still working through plans to get FDA approval.
Tainted peanuts landed Stewart Parnell in jail. Food safety is a hot topic. In terms of potential contamination, the FDA is asking anyone who has tried Cheerios gluten-free version to share if they've been gluten-bombed by eating them. Clear Labs announced they are searching and reporting on GMOs in packaged food.
Some advice from Environmental Working Group on eating fish.
3D printing continues to be a huge boon for health. This video shows the process to develop a sternum and rib cage customized for a human patient.
Business and Marketing
Karen Hartline's deck on 50 tips for badass events from Inbound give some very practical ideas for getting things done. All the checklists!
David Dylan Thomas' slides from Content Camp Philly have some great ideas about the future of content. While largely from a creative standpoint, there's a lot that applies to business.
Sadly, Quirky filed for bankruptcy. It was an interesting place for tinkerers and inventors to test ideas.
