We’re looking for an amazing mechanical engineer who is passionate about building beautiful products that can change peoples lives. On our team, you’ll own a significant chunk of our mechanical product development, and work closely with our current team of engineers, integrating your designs and supporting when necessary.
Requirements:
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, related discipline, or demonstrated equivalent experience
- Minimum of 4 years experience designing products from concept to manufacturing
- Expertise in designing either high-volume consumer products, or medical devices, (or as a bonus, both!)
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including injection molding, sub-assembly, and sonic welding
- Expertise in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) of plastic molded parts
- Experience working with domestic and/or overseas Contract Manufacturers
- Consistent, clear, and accurate communication
Your Role:
- Work in parallel with our other engineers (mechanical, electrical, chemical) to design and integrate a complex product
- Integrate with our Industrial Design firm to finalize product design approach and integrate mechanical design with ID
- Maintain product development schedule, and conduct rapid feasibility studies to direct design for delivery on-time, to spec, and under budget
- Manage rapid prototyping of product components to develop high-quality looks like and works like prototypes and run feasibility tests
- Support product phase builds from EVT, DVT, PVT, and qualify first articles off the line
